Support services available to international students

There are support services available to international students.  All students at the school have a mentor teacher who they meet with once a week.  The mentor teacher is someone who teaches students one of their subjects.  This teacher will be someone students can ask questions and discuss any issues with. 
The International Student Coordinator will also meet with international students regularly to help with any school or homestay issues.  It is important that students are given the support they need to feel comfortable living and attending school away from home.

Swinburne Senior Secondary College is located in Hawthorn, which is eight kilometers from the city.  It is an area with many local facilities including shops, libraries and banks etc in Glenferrie Road. 
There is a selection of transport available to the city and other suburbs. Glenferrie train station is only a few minutes walk from the school. There is a map on the link  ‘How to find us.’  There is a tram that travels along Glenferrie Road and local bus services run through the area. 
There are two health clinics very close to the school.
