  1. Wimera Net News. This is the Wimera Net News Online, a site which lists the 1997 V.C.E. English text list. It lists resources for all the texts studied in that year, and provides some fascinating links for sites regarding author Tim O'Brien and In the Lake of the Woods. Although some sites do not seem to be able to be accessed ALL the time, revisit and persist if necessary.

  10. Tim O'Brien On The Web , a sub-site of the Tim O'Brien Homepage, is a FANTASTIC links page. Links are categorised under Bibliographies, Interviews, Discussions of (O'Brien's) Work, etc. For the serious O'Brien reader or fan.

  11. The Things He Carried. An interesting interview with O'Brien titled The Things He Carried: Tim O'Brien on Love, Murder and Vietnam. Consider the final quotation in the article (taken from O'Brien's 1975 novel Going After Cacciato), in relation to In the Lake of the Woods.

  12. Overview. A short introduction and overview of Tim O'Brien's writing.

  13. Salomon Centre for Teaching. This site reproduces a report regarding O'Brien's lecture at the Salomon Centre for Teaching. Included are 'tips' on writing, and his early influences as a writer. O'Brien was introduced at the lecture as 'a dreamer, a magician, a poet, a journalist, a soldier, and a storyteller'.

  14. Postmodernism. A rather advanced essay regarding the central ideas of postmodernism (as opposed to modernism). A good summary, although perhaps a little difficult for the beginner.

  15. Postmodern theory online. If you really want to get into postmodern theory online, check out this page. It has a comprehensive list of links regarding theorists, artists, writers and commentators connected in various ways to the topic of postmodernism. Again, difficult for the beginner, but persevere.
