The VCE Media design plans displayed on these pages are drawn from the works exhibited in the VCE Season of Excellence Top Designs Gallery.
In VCE Media students construct a media design plan during unit 3 (semester one) and then produce their product from this plan during unit 4 (semester two). Both plan and product are assessed.
The design plans are exhibited here as examples of excellence and represent a range of approaches that may be undertaken for this task. The plans are not always complete, the pages selected are those which demonstrate the best features of Media design plans.
Students are encouraged to browse the designs and to compare them to the products on display in the Top Designs Gallery. Each thumbnail image is hotlinked to a full page to enable closer examination of the details of the design plan.
Media design plans reflect the process of media design used in industry. They allow students the opportunity to visualise their proposed product, to plan the organisation required to create this product and in doing so to anticipate and plan for any problems that may arise during the production process.
The design plans on these pages are a wonderful resource for teachers and students. Other resources may be found in the Media Study Design and from the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.
